How to Build The Perfect Aussie Christmas Tropical Fruit Platter
Step 1: Choose your fruit (shop local, shop seasonal, shop at Tropical Fruit World)
From what’s in season at Christmas, pick 5–7 fruits:
- Mangoes (various varieties)
- Dragon fruit (all colours)
- Lychees
- Figs
- Kiwi fruit
- Wax jambu / water cherry
- White sapote or mamey sapote
- Soursop (best served pre-prepared)
- Tropical Fruit World Dried Fruits
Step 2: Assemble by colour
- Start with mango and dragon fruit as your base
- Add creamy fruits (white or mamey sapote)
- Fill gaps with lychees and kiwi
- Finish with figs and wax jambu for texture and shine
- Garnish with dried citrus, dried star fruit or dried jakfruit
Chill briefly before serving.
Step 3: Serve & enjoy
Perfect alongside seafood, Christmas lunch, or as a light dessert. See below for products from our farm that would complement your platter perfectly. Add small tongs or toothpicks and let guests graze.
Why choose local?
Using in-season tropical fruit from Tropical Fruit World means better flavour, less food miles, and supporting Australian farmers. It’s Christmas the way summer intended - fresh, colourful and proudly local.
